This self-guided half-day idea pairs the Seoul Museum of Craft Art with Insa-dong and Jogyesa. Choose a few galleries rather than trying to see every display. The street section leaves room to look at shopfronts before reaching the temple.
The museum is the indoor anchor. Its entry wait is unverified, so the planner shows a known-time subtotal rather than a complete duration. Shop visits, meals, workshops, guided tours and the Children's Museum are outside this itinerary.
Notice along the way

- Insa-dong's craft and gallery streets
- Jogyesa's outdoor forecourt
Your route, stop by stop
All minute ranges are editorial planning allowances, not measured travel times or venue promises. They include only the named outdoor walks and gallery/forecourt visits. Museum waiting is unknown, so a complete total cannot be confirmed. Add your chosen buffer once; meals, shopping, extra exhibitions, hotel-to-start travel and onward transport are excluded.

Start outside Exit 1, then follow signs to Seoul Museum of Craft Art at 4 Yulgok-ro 3-gil. The allowance includes finding the visitor entrance; it is an editorial allowance, not a measured walk. Subway-platform access is excluded.

Museum entry: wait unverified
Individual general visits do not require advance booking, but no reliable entry-wait duration is published in the checked guidance. The waiting location is also unverified. This unknown is not counted as zero.

Seoul Museum of Craft Art · 서울공예박물관
Choose galleries within Exhibition Building 1 for this indoor segment. This is an editorial viewing allowance. The Children's Museum requires a separate advance reservation and is not included. Check current room closures and admission conditions before visiting.

Museum to Jogyesa via Insa-dong · 인사동
Walk south along Insa-dong's main street, then turn west toward Ujeongguk-ro and Jogyesa. This editorial allowance includes unhurried shopfront browsing and crossings. Entering shops, galleries or Ssamziegil adds time and separate access conditions.

Jogyesa Temple forecourt · 조계사
Finish with a quiet look at the temple courtyard and main hall exterior. The editorial allowance does not include a ceremony or indoor hall visit. Temple access varies with Buddhist ceremonies and the temple schedule; follow signs and worshippers' space.

If you return to the start
Optional street-level return to the original meeting point. This is an editorial planning allowance, not a measured journey; platform access and train travel are excluded.
Additional editorial allowance: 15–25 minutes.
Before you go
- Check the museum's Korean visiting page and current notices for public-holiday exceptions and temporary room changes. Its English and Korean pages currently differ on evening hours, so no clock times are promised here.
- Ordinary museum closure days include Mondays and New Year's Day; public-holiday exceptions need checking. The Children's Museum has separate booking and closing rules.
- Jogyesa's visiting conditions depend on ceremonies. This route ends in the outdoor forecourt and does not reserve access to a religious service.
- Allow extra time for food, purchases and any workshop. Nothing in this editorial route includes a reservation or paid experience.
Check your company’s needs
Step-free access
A continuous step-free route from the station exit through every stop has not been checked. Individual venue facilities do not establish route-wide access.
Stroller access
The museum lists stroller facilities, but the complete street route and every entrance have not been verified for a stroller.
Suitability for children
Whole-route suitability for children is unverified. General museum visiting is different from the separately reserved Children's Museum; a booked children's session is not included.
A separate indoor idea
Spend longer at the craft museum
If conditions make the street section unattractive, build a shorter outing around the museum's open galleries. Check its closing day and room notices first. This changes the route: entry waiting remains unknown, and a longer gallery visit is not included in the displayed subtotal.
