Use a half-day to connect the workshop streets around Sallim-dong and Sewoon with Dongdaemun Design Plaza. The contrast is the point: street-level signs and working shopfronts first, then DDP's sweeping exterior and public outdoor spaces.
This version stays outside. It does not include a workshop demonstration, Sewoon rooftop access, a café seat or an exhibition ticket. The eastbound connection is a street walk; use a current map for crossings and any construction diversion.

Your route, stop by stop
All minute ranges are editorial planning allowances, not measured journeys. The base itinerary contains only outdoor street walks and exterior viewing, so no exhibition-admission wait is included. Add your chosen buffer once. Shop entry, food, rooftop visits, exhibitions, hotel-to-start travel and onward transport require separate time.

Euljiro 4-ga to Sallim-dong · 을지로·산림동
Begin outside Exit 2 and explore the public lanes around Changgyeonggung-ro 5-gil and the Sewoon Daelim complex. Observe shopfronts from the street. This editorial allowance includes wayfinding; workshop entry or a live demonstration is not arranged.

Sewoon street-level pause · 세운상가
Look at the complex's exterior and its relationship to Cheonggyecheon. This editorial viewing allowance stays at street level; skywalks, rooftop access and shop interiors are not required or verified for the visit date.

Street-level walk east to DDP
Continue east on public streets toward Dongdaemun, then approach DDP on Eulji-ro. Stay above the lowered stream path. This broad editorial allowance includes crossings and navigation; it is not a surveyed walking time. Follow current signs if works change the route.

If you return to the start
Optional return along public streets to the original station exit. This is an editorial walking allowance, not a measured time. Taking the subway is a different plan and its access, waiting and travel time are not included.
Additional editorial allowance: 30–50 minutes.
Before you go
- These are working streets. Ask before entering or photographing a workshop, and leave loading access clear. No craft class or demonstration is included.
- The checked city feature describes redevelopment around Sewoon. Use current signage and maps; this route does not promise that a particular shop, deck or rooftop will be open.
- The basic route remains at street level. Cheonggyecheon's lower promenade can close in rain; any descent is an optional change with extra access and walking checks.
- DDP opening arrangements vary by space and programme. Check the official schedule before adding an indoor exhibition, ticket or guided architecture tour.
Check your company’s needs
Step-free access
No continuous step-free route through the workshop lanes, crossings and DDP has been verified. Street-level planning alone does not establish accessibility.
Stroller access
DDP's facilities do not establish stroller suitability for the earlier streets or every crossing. Route-wide access remains unverified.
Suitability for children
Whole-route suitability for children has not been verified. The itinerary includes working streets and road crossings; it does not include a children's programme.
A separate indoor idea
An exhibition visit at DDP
Choose a currently operating indoor DDP exhibition if you want less outdoor time. Check the exact hall, dates, ticket conditions and last admission on the official programme page. This is a replacement outing: entry waiting and the changed journey have not been timed, so it is not covered by this route's total.
